Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how StarTrader ("StarTrader", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the StarTrader website, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information you provide: your first and last name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider).
• Profile and gameplay data: your StarCoin balances, trading accounts, holdings and transaction history, leagues, badges, subscription tier, and in-app activity.
• Payment information: when you subscribe or purchase StarCoins, our payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited information such as a transaction identifier and subscription status.
• Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests.
• Device and usage data: IP address, device and browser type, app version, pages or screens viewed, and similar diagnostic and analytics data collected automatically.
• Error and performance data: crash reports and diagnostic information collected to monitor and improve reliability.
• Advertising measurement data: if you reach us from an ad on a third-party platform, that platform's measurement tag may record that you visited and whether you created an account, so we can tell which ads are working. This measures the ad, not you: it is used to count conversions, not to build a profile of you or to target you individually.
• Advertising cookies: we display ads served by Google, including Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads.

We share limited identifiers with advertising partners (Google AdSense, which serves ads, and the Reddit advertising pixel, which tells us whether people who clicked one of our ads went on to sign up). Under California law and several other US state privacy laws, that activity is treated as 'selling or sharing' personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, even though we receive no payment for your data.

You can opt out at any time using the 'Your Privacy Choices' link in the footer of every page, or by visiting /privacy-choices directly. Opting out does not affect your account, your holdings, or your leagues, and you will still see ads; they simply stop being personalised and we stop counting you in our advertising measurement.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or an extension sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out request automatically and you do not need to take any further action.

Depending on your state, you may also have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to request correction or deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email support@startraderplatforms.com.

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• Operate, maintain, and provide the features of the Service, including trading, leagues, wallet, and subscriptions.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions and StarCoin purchases.
• Verify eligibility, including age (18+) and location, and prevent fraud, cheating, and abuse.
• Communicate with you about your account, transactions, security, and service updates, and respond to support requests.
• Monitor, analyze, debug, and improve the Service.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:

• Service providers and processors who help us operate the Service, including our cloud database and authentication provider (Supabase), payment processor (Stripe), transactional email provider (Resend), error and performance monitoring (Sentry), and bot/abuse protection (Cloudflare Turnstile). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
• Other users: limited profile information such as your username, badges, and league activity may be visible to other users as part of normal gameplay, subject to your privacy settings.
• Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of StarTrader, our users, or others.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service, and understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect functionality such as staying logged in.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account closure we may retain certain information as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can:

• Access and update much of your account information directly in the app under your account settings.
• Request a copy (export) of your personal data, or request deletion of your account and associated data, from your account's privacy settings or by contacting us.
• Manage marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in emails; we will still send essential account and transactional messages.

To exercise any right, contact us at support@startraderplatforms.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it and close the associated account. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at support@startraderplatforms.com.

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your credentials and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.

We and our providers may process and store your information in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
